Friday Faves

Fave DIY:  It's almost Easter!  I've been seeing Easter egg DIYs all over the internet lately, and here's a pretty good round up (including the ones above) on the papernstitch blog.

Fave Etsy Find:  This herbarium notebook, made of paper taken from schoolbooks from the 40s', is so cute.  It would be fun to have one filled with plants from places special to you, maybe?

Fave Fashion Find: This lovely lookbook, via Miss Moss

Fave Art Find:  This print by 10:AM is lovely.  The bright colors and graphic lines are stunning.

Fave Shopping Find:  Tetris leggings.  Need I say more?  By black milk clothing.

Fave For the Home Find: I'm loving this turquoise scallop rug from Urban Outfitters.  Plus that butterfly print and cute chair make it even better.

Fave Music Find: The Crane Wives is an indie folk group out of Grand Rapids, MI.  They have a unique sound filled with eclectic instruments, strong vocals, and an upbeat vibe.  I just bought they're debut album Safe Ship, Harbored on iTunes, and it is amazing!

What I Wore: to the Zoo

skirt :: Modcloth
shirt :: concert
cardigan, tights :: Forever21
boots :: Kohls
scarf :: Super old, I can't remember

Today my mother, my two younger sisters, my boyfriend, and I took a trip to the zoo in Panama City.  It's not that big, but I always have fun.  Since the big cats are my favorite animals to see, I thought my new novelty cat print skirt was quite fitting.  Oh, and if it isn't obvious yet, I'm a cat lady.  And a lover of yellow tights.

In that fourth photo I'm pretending to be an airplane.  Because airplanes are cool.

What are your favorite animals at the zoo?

xo, Megan

thanks nick for the photos!

What I Wore: Hipster Cat

shirt :: Modcloth
jeans :: Kohls
boots :: thrifted

Today was my day to just relax, since it is my only day off work this week.  I spent my morning being a lazy bum, and during the afternoon my boyfriend and I chilled with some friends at a Magic the Gathering tournament.  Yeah, I know.  We're dorks.

Seeing how I'm a teenage cat lady, I had to buy this shirt when I saw it on Modcloth.  I mean, c'mon.  A burnt out tee with a fuzzy wuzzy cat wearing bright red hipster glasses?  How could I resist?  Bonus: it's super soft, and works well worn many ways (try saying that five times fast).

I haven't yet DIYed these boots.  Why?  'Cause I procrastinate, that's why.  And I'm darn good at it.  But now I finally have a vision for them, so hopefully that means they will get all dolled up soon.

How has everyone's spring breaks been?  Does anyone else have to work their whole spring break, too?

What I Wore: Polka Dots

dress :: THML via Stitchfix
belt :: Forever21
shoes :: Payless
socks :: Ruche
necklace :: vintage
bow :: my sister's

Saturday Nick and I spent our afternoon in Apalachicola at an ArtWalk.  There were tons of local artists, it was really a cool experience.  We stopped at a chocolatier's and got some gelato, and the local bookstore and yarn store, as well as all the antique stores that fill the port town.

I got this dress from this new company called Stitchfix.  The idea behind the company is really cool, and I was very pleased with my first shipment.  This dress was what I decided to keep from it, and it is so comfortable and perfect for spring.  If you want to find out more about Stitchfix, you can check out their website here, and if you like it go ahead and fill out your profile and make an order!

P.S. isn't Nick the cutest?

Friday Faves

Summer is in full swing already in the South.  This swim suit would be the perfect thing to spend my "spring" break in:  pastels, stripes, ruffles, and bows? Who could ask for more?

This sweet one of a kind heart cross-stitch by Georgica Designs is so sweet!  I love the color scheme and the pattern she created, and who doesn't love a cute heart?

These cloud-shaped macaroons by Carnet Parisiens look almost too good to eat!  Oh, and the sweet rain cloud coasters and paper cut-outs make this photo even sweeter.

I love crochet mushrooms, they are always adorable.  But these mushrooms have a some sweet twine tied to the top to hang them with; oh, imagine the cute decoration possibilities!

These gorgeous woodland animal rings belong on my fingers, ASAP.

I'm sure you've seen this breathtaking runway show by Louis Vuitton for his Spring/Summer 2012 collection, but it really is too perfect to leave off today's list.  The colors, the shapes, the hair, and the carousel, it is all just loveliness in a jar.

What are you loving today?

What I Wore: To The Southwest!

button-up :: thrifted
shirt :: Olde Fields Clothing Co
shorts :: Forever21
socks :: American Eagle?
shoes :: Kohls
bolo tie :: thrifted

Okay so I didn't really go to the Southwest (way to far to travel on a school day), but it did wear a southwestern print!

Guess what!  I finally found the charger for my DSLR!  So that means the pictures around here will actually be a decent quality again.  And I won't have to do nearly as much editing (yay!).

So I've been dying to find a bolo tie, but they were never really a big thing in my part of the South.  So imagine my surprise to find this one hidden away in a little grab bag of sorts at a nearby vintage store!  I was ecstatic when I saw it, and I've been very impatient to wear it since.  Today's outfit was kind of styled around the bolo tie, but can you blame me?  That horse is too cute.

Oh, and this is a picture of the face my cat makes when he hears the treat bag.  It's about the only time he ever wants to be social.

Is there something that's been on your wish list forever, but you can't seem to find in your area?

What I Wore: Flowers and Bangs

dress :: Modcloth
socks :: Forever21
shoes :: Converse
necklace :: mom's

This morning I decided I wanted my bangs back; so, with a little help from my mom, here they are!  I had bangs like this about a year ago, and I loved them.  Unfortunately, due to my summer mission trip I was unable to keep them up.  But now they're back!  Yay!

Because of the death of my little camera, and my laziness when it comes to finding my charger for my DSLR, we're using my boyfriend's old digital camera right now.  It's from like, 2005.  But I'm happy to have a camera to take photos with, and I'm lucky to have a sweet boyfriend who will let me.

So what do you think about my bangs? Yay or Nay?

What I Wore- My Favorite Skirt

skirt, scarf :: Modcloth
tee :: band shirt
socks :: Ruche
shoes :: Payless
headband :: Claires

Have I mentioned how much I love this skirt?  The color, the fit, the sweet buttons; it's all just so perfect.  And if you can't tell, that scarf has giraffes on it.  I freaking love giraffes, they're just so cute and gangly and awkward, which is how I feel sometimes.

Today we mourn the loss of my digital camera.  I guess the screen hit something in my purse, because it is completely trashed now.  We took these photos blindly, which is why the top of my head is missing in most of them.  I guess this means I really have to find my charger for my nice camera now.

P.S.  Can you tell my face is sunburned in this pictures?  Yeah, spring has completely skipped Florida.  Summer is already in full swing here.

How has your weekend been?

Friday Faves

These button hair clips from BHG are so cute and kitschy, they look like perfect spring accessories to me!

I've never thought about displaying pretty potholders this way.

These pillows belong in my room, like NOW.  Who could resist such a cute print?

Sarah from Wearing It On My Sleeves has one of the prettiest, effortless styles around.  She always looks wonderful, and her writing style is so fun and entertaining.  Oh, see that necklace?  She made it!  Check out her DIY here.

Yeah I know, I'm in such a kitschy, vintage mood this morning.  But how could anyone resist these lovely sewing bowls from CircaCeramics?  They're just so cute!

This dress from Modcloth is so perfect for spring!  I love the cut-outs, the color combination, and the shape of it so much.
