Yay! I get to cross number 2 on my Twelve by 2012 list off, as of last night.  It was such a fun party, and I was surprised with how well it turned out.  I know, I have no faith in myself as a crafter.  But it looked awesome, and everyone had tons of fun.  My only regret is that because of my brother's show I didn't get to help finish setting up, and by the time I got back it was too dark to take pictures.  But you can just take my word for it, it rocked!:)

Lacy Dresses and Curly Tresses

Me: dress- Forever21, tights- Wet Seal, socks- Walmart, necklace- mom's, glasses- Ray ban's

A group of students at my campus have deemed Wednesdays as Fancy Wednesdays, which is why we are all dressed up today.  We were last week as well, but because of school craziness there was no chance to take pictures.  But today we had plenty of time, and we really enjoyed it.  This is probably my favorite set yet!
My friend's party is on Friday, and I've got most of the decorations finished.  That's what my day will be filled with after work tomorrow, and hopefully everything will be done then.  The other friend who is helping me plan this is making the food, which takes a ton of weight off of my shoulders.  I am super excited for it, I can't wait to share all of our hard work.

Oh, and isn't my boyfriend just the cutest ever?  I'm such a lucky girl.

Later, lovelies!

Changing With the Seasons

dress: forever21, tights and socks: Wet Seal, necklace: First Friday vendor, boots: still can't remember

It is finally getting cold enough around here to wear tights again! I am so excited for this weather, it is my absolute favorite season of the year.  The tempurature is perfect outside, and considering I just went shopping this weekend, you'll most likely be seeing many more outfit posts!
So this dress.  It looks orange in these pictures, but I swear in person it changes colors nonstop.  It just can't decide whether it wants to be red or orange.  I personally love the pretty burnt orange the most because it's such a stand-out fall color, and I'm glad the dress chose to be orange for you guys.
Near the campus there is this huge, amazing park.  We went there for the first time today, and it was so beautiful!  We barely had time to explore, but we made sure to take some pictures before we left.  These were in a little grove of trees at the bottom of the field, it was so gorgeous.  I already have Wednesday's picture site picked out, you'll have to come back and see how stunning it is!

Finally!

Wow, tomorrow turned into quite a few days.  But here it is, as promised.  Now for a little info:

Base: White cardstock cut in half
Front Square: Cardstock tea-stained by me
Bonfire: Flame template drawn by me, and reproduced and cut out by my amazing mother
Bunting: Cut by me, just construction paper like the bonfire

So ta da! Invitations complete!  I've given out some of them, and the rest will go out soon.  Up next is decorations.  I've got some of the fabric to make bunting, the crepe paper for streamers, and some really cute fabric to make pillows for some of the seating.  Tomorrow I'm going to Tallahassee for some shopping, so I'm hoping to get the rest of the supplies then.  I'll let you know how things unfold.

Oh How Time Flys

So today only I spent over 6 hours working on the invitations for my friends party. Six. Freakin. Hours.  And that's not counting the time it took to stain and dry some of the paper.  So needless to say, there was no sunlight left by the time I fiinished the invitations; thus, you will see them tomorrow.  But I'm just letting you know that they are done! And I can't wait to show you my hard work tomorrow!

Twelve by 2012

Okay, I will admit to it.  I am a terrible procrastinator.  Those invitations I told you would be posted today?  Yeah, they're going up tomorrow.  One of the best ways to deal with procrastination (for me anyways) is making lists.  I don't do it often, because I always put it off (funny, huh?), but when I saw Oh, Hello Friend's post about her Twelve by 2012 project, I knew I just had to participate.  So here's my list of the twelve things I will accomplish before the year ends.

1. Polish up my blog header (the sketchiness bothers me)

2. Throw a party (in the works!)

3. Finally win a carrom game against my mom

4. Finish my skirt

5. Decorate for the holidays

6. Make my family's Christmas presents instead of buying them

7. Hug my dad for the first time in six months

8. Get a better math score on the ACT

9. Bake that cake for my boyfriend

10. Totally clean my room

11. Take more pictures

12. Plan a trip

I know some of them are kind of strange, but they all have a special meaning to me.  I'll let you know each time I get to cross one off the list!

Goat Day!

Today was my town's annual Goat Day festival, and it was a blast as always.  I spent time with friends I rarely see, ate awesome fair food, and got my facepainted with my best friend!  I opted for a more Day of the Dead-esque look, while she went with a rainbow butterfly.  They both turned out great, though.
So another friend of mine is turning eighteen in a few days, and I wanted to give him a little party.  So with the help from my bestie (pictured above) we're planning a bonfire party at her house for him.  It won't be super big, because he only wanted to spend it with people he actually enjoyed being with.  But it will definitely be a party!  I'm finishing the invitations tonight, and I'll start getting them out tomorrow, since the party isn't for another two weeks.  I'll be sharing them tomorrow, along with a few crafting supplies I'm going to use for decorations that finally came in today.  All in all, it's going to be a lot of fun!

What I Wore, Illustrated

These two outfits are actually what I wore last weekend.  I wasn't able to take pictures because my poor boyfriend was so sick, but I figured I could just draw them.  Who knows, maybe I'll post some more of my work here.
The First Friday event was so much fun!  We ran into some other friends there, and it was nice getting to catch up with them.  I proved my useless ability to point out specific breeds of dogs over and over again, (I did see an Afghan Hound though, which just made my night).  Oh, and I bought an adorable headband and necklace from a new vendor for a total of five dollars.
Tomorrow is  going to be a busy day at school, but hopefully we'll have time for some outfit pictures.  And maybe I'll have my Halloween wreath finished by tomorrow night too!

Little Silver Sailor

dress- forever21, shirt- vintage, socks- forever21, belt- mom's, necklace- mom's, boots- payless (I think), glasses- rayban's

This shirt is shiny.  I know I'm stating the obvious, but these pictures can't show just how shiny it really is.  It is the most loud, obnoxious shirt I own and so much fun to wear around my little southern college campus!  I definitely got some strange looks, but I also recieved quite a few compliments as well.
Anyways, I bought this shirt this weekend when I went down to Tallahassee with my boyfriend.  I had found the shirt a few weeks ago, but didn't buy it because I wasn't sure if I would ever wear something so... eye-catching.  But when I saw that it was still there last Friday, I knew I couldn't leave without it!  So I am now the proud owner of this oversized, metallic button-up, which I am so excited to wear in a plethora of ways.
It's almost time for the First Friday event at Railroad Square in Tallahassee!  I'm so excited to go again, it's one of my favorite things to do!  I'll be back to tell you all about it soon, and maybe finally share some pictures of it, if I get to take any.

Dreams of Colder Days

sweater- thrifted, dress worn as skirt- charlotte russe, tights- forever21, boots- can't remember, necklace- claires, belt- mom's

Have I mentioned how much I love stripes?  Horizontal stripes, vertical ones, thin, thick, bright colored or pastels, stripes are one of my favorite patterns!  Especially chevron stripes,  I have a huge weakness for anything chevron.  This sweater is going to become a staple for me; it's bright and happy and warm (plus it's striped!).
My boyfriend has been sick since Friday so I spent the weekend taking care of him.  While I absolutely loved spending that time with him and would never want anything else, I missed the wonderful cool weather we had.  It got so cold the past four days, I was even able to wear a sweater and tights without dying yesterday!  But of course, today it was back up in the 80's.
My boyfriend is feeling better, thankfully, and this weekend we are going to the First Friday festival in Tallahassee.  We're also bringing one of my best friends along, and it'll be his first time there.  Hopefully the weather will be nice again by then!
