Shirt: band tee, shorts: thrifted, cardigan: Forever21, scarf: DIY, hat: Claires, tights: Claires, boots: Kohls

We went to Panama City today, and I bought some more yarn to finish my Christmas presents.  I received loads of compliments on my scarf, which made me extremely happy!

P.S. I have finally made the switch to Bloglovin, and it is pure loveliness!
Follow me there!

Happy weekend wishes from Nugget the cat!

Mixtape Monday

Today starts my exams week, so not much to say.  Thankfully I only have three exams this semester, but today will definitely be a study day.  Hopefully I'll get to put up an outfit post soon, and a little peak into what I've been up to lately.  Until then, here's a playlist of what I've been listening to this past week, enjoy!

Three's the Charm

1. Polish up my blog header

2. Throw a party

3. Finally win a carrom game against my mom

4. Finish my skirt

5. Decorate for the holidays

6. Make my family's Christmas presents instead of buying them

7. Hug my dad for the first time in six months

8. Get a better math score on the ACT

9. Bake that cake for my boyfriend

10. Totally clean my room

11. Take more pictures

12. Plan a trip

So far I get to cross three more items off my Twelve before 2012 list! I'm so excited! Getting to cross things off is my favorite part about list-making, because it means I actually did something.  Here's a little bit about what happened:

3. Finally win a carrom game against my mom

Carrom is a board game my mother grew up playing, and she recently bought one of the boards at a yard sale so my siblings and I can play.  I have to say, it's quite entertaining.  My mother is pretty much a pro at this game, but on Thanksgiving my boyfriend and I beat my mom and my sister in a 2 v. 2 match, and I was so excited!

8. Get a better math score on the ACT

I was able to improve my math and my science scores when I took the ACT in November.  Math went from a 25 to a 27 and science went from 29 to 30, but my English score dropped dramatically from 36 to 31, so I am retaking it again in the spring.

12. Plan a trip

Okay, so I didn't actually plan a trip for myself, but I am helping my two sisters plan the mission trips they are going on next summer.  I went on one this past summer and this is something that really means a lot to me, so I am happy I get to be a part of this with my sisters and I know that they will have an amazing experience.

So that's four down, eight to go! Don't worry, I am working on most of them currently!  I actually think I might be able to get all of them done in time!

Counting Back to 1

sweater: thrifted, shorts & socks: Forever21, boots: Kohls, necklace: Claires, scarf: Etsy

I would like to say one thing.  It was almost too hot to wear this sweater today.  Eighty degree weather in December is not normal people.  I want my cold weather back!
Now that I've finished my little weather rant, I want to tell you about this scarf.  I bought it on Black Friday from a little Etsy shop called afternoonowl designs. It came in a few days ago, and I am in love with it.  It's so soft and warm, and the perfect chunky knit too.  I have been wearing it with practically everything!  Knit scarves and such are definitely my latest obsession.
Later this week I have some achievements to share with you, namely about my Twelve Before 2012 list.  Oh, and I'll let you in on some of the music that's been filling my ears, and the loveliness that's been occupying my brain when schoolwork should be.  Stay tuned lovelies!

Loving Lately..

I have been such a naughty blogger!  In my defense, my absence for the past few weeks has been kind of necessary; school has gotten crazy with finals coming up, a close friend in the military had a short leave over Thanksgiving so we all got to spend time together, and I've been terribly sick for the past week.  But no excuses, right?  I promise to get back in the blogging zone now!
Even though I was MIA here, I have been doing a lot of crafty work and fancy dressin'!  I've gotten a chance to mark a few things off my Twelve before 2012 list, I've been working on Christmas presents, and I refuse to let my laziness get the best of me when it comes to my style!  I'll tell you all about it soon (and my early graduation present!), but for now I will leave you with a few things that I have been loving lately.

1.  These felted wool wrist warmers by The Purl Bee are lovely and surprisingly easy to make!

2.  Here's the cutest ornament wreath! By Hank and Hunt, found on the Sweetest Occasion.

3.  A calendar journal like this one is something my boyfriend and I are planning to make soon, possibly with vintage postcards.

4.  This is the sweetest Christmas wallpaper, by Fine Little Day.

5.  Love this DIY garland over on The Sweetest Occasion.

6.  And finally, this adorable foxy calendar over on Etsy.

What have you been loving lately?

Countdown to Christmas: Advent Calendars

Can you believe that Christmas is less than two months away?  This year I decided that I will make everyone's Christmas presents instead of buying them, and I am making myself start this week.  If I don't, the presents will never get done!  I know, I'm such a terrible procrastinator.
So this season I have fallen in love with advent calendars.  They are such a cute way to spread the holiday love over the whole month, and they help build up excitement for Christmas day.  My boyfriend, my brother, and my two sisters are getting their presents in advent form.  I already have ideas for each of them in my little crowded head, and I will share them with you all each day that they open one.  But for now I thought I'd leave you with some of my favorite advent calendar inspiration.  Be prepared for loveliness!

These pennants are too cute!  My middle sister's present might look slightly like this.

These cute little envelopes each hold an activity for the day.

This calendar is simple and sweet, and oh so cheap to make!

These little felt trees are adorable, I hope to hide my youngest sisters presents under similar ones.

Unwrap one Christmas book a day and read it together, how cute is that?

And my personal favorite; my boyfriend's advent calendar will be a variation of this one.

Girl with the Lion's Mane Hair

sweater- thrifted, blouse- thrifted, cardigan and shorts- Forever21, socks and tights- Wet Seal, necklace- Claires, headband- First Friday vendor

Look! Proof that I do leave my house!  Yesterday everyone drove over to Dothan to attend the National Peanut Festival.  The best thing about the night?  Gas prices.  They were 30 cents cheaper than in my hometown!  But really, it was a lot of fun.  We rode some of the rides until I got sick, ate overpriced fair food, and just had a good time together.
Hopefully this week will be more relaxed than my life has been, and maybe my ACT results will even come in early!

Arrows through my heart

sweater- Forever21, dress- JCPenney's, boots- forgot, necklace- First Friday vendor, hat- old

Last night was First Friday again, and this time me and my boyfriend brought my little toy schnauzer Precious along with us.  She loved seeing all of the people and getting all of the attention.  Everyone thought she was adorable, especially in her little red parka.
One day I'll get pictures of these events, as soon as we get more light here.
Today my little sister wanted to come take pictures with us, so my boyfriend drove us around town and we had our own little photoshoot.  It was a lot of fun, but resulted in about 500 photos between the two of us.  So it'll be a little bit before I get them all edited and sifted through.  But I promise you'll see them, because some of them I really like already.

Stripes are my Favorite

sweater- Thrifted, jeans- Kohls, boots- forgot, hat and necklace- Claire's, glasses- Ray Bans

Yesterday I dressed for comfort, and nothing else.  I had a big test that day and a lot of homework due, so I was kinda stressing out.  Yet somehow, I really liked what I wore.  It was comfortable and warm, but the feeling cute thing was definitely a bonus.
Tonight is First Friday again, and my boyfriend and I are bringing my little toy Schnauzer with us this time.  We bought her a cute little red parka just for the trip, because the temperatures have dropped dramatically lately.  And by dramatically, I mean in the 50's.  But hey, that's cold for Florida!  Anyways, she's been shivering when she's inside the house, so we figured she really needed a nice warm jacket if she was going to spend a lot of time outside with us.  Plus it's just darn adorable.

Only When Actions Become Consequences

Sweater- thrifted, top- thrifted, shorts- Forever21, socks- Walmart, shoes- Kohls

First of all I would like to say one thing: Yes, it is still warm enough here to wear these shorts.  It was in the low 70's today.  And I would like to apologize for the quality of the photos today; I didn't get off work until just as the sun was setting, so my boyfriend didn't have much to work with.
On the other hand, this is probably one of my favorite outfits ever.  It is so warm and comfortable, but the main reason I love it is because I felt pretty today.  And everyone deserves to feel pretty.
Go feel pretty, lovelies!

Photos by my boyfriend, thanks for putting up with me love:)

Yay! I get to cross number 2 on my Twelve by 2012 list off, as of last night.  It was such a fun party, and I was surprised with how well it turned out.  I know, I have no faith in myself as a crafter.  But it looked awesome, and everyone had tons of fun.  My only regret is that because of my brother's show I didn't get to help finish setting up, and by the time I got back it was too dark to take pictures.  But you can just take my word for it, it rocked!:)

Lacy Dresses and Curly Tresses

Me: dress- Forever21, tights- Wet Seal, socks- Walmart, necklace- mom's, glasses- Ray ban's

A group of students at my campus have deemed Wednesdays as Fancy Wednesdays, which is why we are all dressed up today.  We were last week as well, but because of school craziness there was no chance to take pictures.  But today we had plenty of time, and we really enjoyed it.  This is probably my favorite set yet!
My friend's party is on Friday, and I've got most of the decorations finished.  That's what my day will be filled with after work tomorrow, and hopefully everything will be done then.  The other friend who is helping me plan this is making the food, which takes a ton of weight off of my shoulders.  I am super excited for it, I can't wait to share all of our hard work.

Oh, and isn't my boyfriend just the cutest ever?  I'm such a lucky girl.

Later, lovelies!

Changing With the Seasons

dress: forever21, tights and socks: Wet Seal, necklace: First Friday vendor, boots: still can't remember

It is finally getting cold enough around here to wear tights again! I am so excited for this weather, it is my absolute favorite season of the year.  The tempurature is perfect outside, and considering I just went shopping this weekend, you'll most likely be seeing many more outfit posts!
So this dress.  It looks orange in these pictures, but I swear in person it changes colors nonstop.  It just can't decide whether it wants to be red or orange.  I personally love the pretty burnt orange the most because it's such a stand-out fall color, and I'm glad the dress chose to be orange for you guys.
Near the campus there is this huge, amazing park.  We went there for the first time today, and it was so beautiful!  We barely had time to explore, but we made sure to take some pictures before we left.  These were in a little grove of trees at the bottom of the field, it was so gorgeous.  I already have Wednesday's picture site picked out, you'll have to come back and see how stunning it is!

Photos by my boyfriend, thanks sweetheart!
