My Fall Bucket List

I know it's already half way through October, but it's never too late to start my autumn bucket list, is it?  Autumn is my favorite season; I love the cooling weather, wearing sweaters and boots, the changing leaves, and everything that comes with this time of year (not to mention my favorite holiday, Halloween!).  So here's what I plan to do in the next few months:

  1. Go hiking.
  2. Have a picnic in the park.
  3. Jump in a leaf pile (and take photos!).
  4. Watch "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
  5. Make Halloween costumes for us and the kitties.
  6. Go on zoo and museum trips.
  7. Attend as many fall festivals as we can.
  8. READ. READ. READ.
  9. Drink lots of hot chocolate.
  10. Go to a football game.
  11. Fly a kite.
  12. Decorate for autumn and Halloween.
  13. Play soccer.
  14. Go stargazing.
  15. Crochet something cozy.
  16. Make autumnal art together.
  17. Wear comfy sweaters.
  18. Send out Halloween cards.
  19. Go to Goat Day with Nick.
  20. Make autumnal crowns.
  21. Bake Pillsbury Halloween cookies.
  22. Collect and try out autumn recipes.
  23. Go to a concert.
  24. Explore a small town.
  25. Decorate pumpkins together.

So does anyone else have a bucket list for fall this year?  I would love to see your ideas!

What I Wore: Flower Power

Dress :: Walmart
Sandals :: Modcloth
Clutch :: Vintage
Necklace :: Forever21

I am FINALLY getting back into the habit of taking outfit photos!  While have a completely unstructured summer was relaxing, it also meant I didn't get dressed up very much.  But school has started, so now I'm back to using more of my closet again!

Am I the only one excited about school?  Well, within my family I am.  I just love learning, and taking classes, and meeting like-minded people!  I'm taking Intro to Drawing I, Conservation Biology, Statistics, and American Literature.  I'm enjoying all of my classes so far, but American Lit is my favorite.  Yeah, I'm that kind of nerd.

So about this dress: it's from Walmart!  Can you believe it?  I love the bold floral print, the little ruffle across the bust, and the pretty back (which I forgot to photograph).  I'm sure it will only survive a few washings, but hey, I'll rock it while I can!

Are you going to school this semester?  If so, are you excited about it?

Weekly Pins

I want this dress, it would be perfect for the upcoming fall season.

Exactly.

This print is gorgeous.  Anyone know the original source of it?

If I ever cut my hair short again, I want it to look like this.

Oh hi there.

Aren't these vases adorable?

Etsy Finds: Bear Love

I like bears.  Who doesn't?  They're soft, fuzzy, cute, and I hear they give great hugs.  But you probably shouldn't do that, they might eat your face.  So don't give a bear a hug, unless it's stuffed.

But not a taxidermy one, cause that would be kinda strange.

That face.

Exactly.

I love all the details in this outfit.

I love everything about this painting from the bunny mask, to the outfits, to the cute, crooked house in the background.

I wish I was brave enough to dye my hair this gorgeous color.

This little dining room is perfect.

What I Wore: Waves Around My Waist

Shirt: Charlotte Russe
Skirt: American Apparel
Belt, Necklace: Sister's
Scarf: Vintage
Shoes: Payless

I wore this last week on a trip to Panama City with my best friend.  We ran around historic downtown and took lots of photos, some of which you'll be seeing shortly.

Because it's summer here, I had to wear something light enough to save me from a heat stroke.  Luckily, this skirt did the trick.  It was heavy enough to not fly up from the ocean breeze (but I wore shorts cause you never know, right?), yet light enough to keep me cool.

And yes, I really am that pale.

Weekly Pins

This is exactly how I feel right now.

Gosh, that dress.  So pretty!

Can I just live in this photo?

I love stripes and florals, they're such a classy combination.

I want to make a stack of pretty crocheted blankets just like this.

My future dining room will have chairs like this, most definitely.

What are your favorite pins of the week?

What I Wore: Sipping on Sunshine

Dress: Modcloth
Socks: Forever21
Boots: My sister's
Flower: Claire's

I LOVE this dress.  It is super light and airy, and who can't resist a little polka dot dress?  It's really more of an olive green in person, but it is still just as pretty as the photos.  I am going to wear the heck out of this dress all summer, it is perfection in a frock!

We were in Panama City last Wednesday when I wore this, so I made sure to have on comfortable walking shoes.  These boots just fit so well, I feel like I could walk for miles in them.  But not really, cause I'm pretty sure I would die.

xo, Megan

p.s. Sorry for the weird lighting, the sun was almost gone and we had to take photos quickly!

Summer Goals

Summer officially started last week!  Summer is a great time to relax and have fun, without the time restraints and stress of school.  Florida summers are sweltering, so loose dresses and many beach days are required to beat the heat.  If only I lived close enough to go every day, then I would be one happy gal.
Summer is also a time to get things done, and that's exactly what I intend to do.  I have a lot planned for this summer, and these "goals" are just a few of them.

1.  Fill up five disposable cameras (and develop the film!)

2.  Spend more time with my best friend.

3.  Go bowling and roller skating.

4.  Drink LOTS of sweet tea.

5.  Read five books.

6.  Create five crochet patterns.

7.  Go star-gazing.

8.  Go to the zoo.

9.  Go to the beach, multiple times.

10.  Write about EVERYTHING!

So there's a brief little list of what my summer is (hopefully) going to be filled with!  I'm always on the lookout for my fun ideas and activities though, so why don't you share your own summer goals?  I'd love to hear them!

Music Monday: Kelsey Rottiers and the Rising Tide

I found Kelsey Rottiers on reverbnation recently, and I was instantly taken with her voice.  Her sound is so unique, I've been listening none stop all day.  My favorites are Leave Your Darling and Red Wonder Boots.  I love her take on these classic stories and characters!  The best part?  All of these songs are available as free downloads!(for the moment) So stop on by and pick up some great new tunes!

What I Wore: Stripes and Turquoise

Untitled

Top: Dillard's
Jeans: Ross
Shoes: Modcloth
Necklace: Gifted

Wow, it's been a while!  Between graduation, work, and all the family stuff going on, I haven't had much blogging time. But c'est la vie, and I'm back and at it now!

This tank top has a super cute back, but I was unable to get a good photo of it this time.  This shirt is so comfortable that I'm sure it will become a summer staple, so expect to see it a lot more!  The same goes for these shoes, I can't get enough of them!  They are incredibly comfortable, but still give a little extra height.  Plus the color is just to die for, who wouldn't want some bright turquoise shoes?

What are some of your summer staples this season?

Revelations

Vintage skirt

I have realized something.  Now that school is out and I only have to work in the afternoons, I actually have time to DO stuff.  Taken over with excitement, I spent today planning and scheming.  I filled a WHOLE notebook with lists, thoughts, sketches, and ideas to make the most of the next few months.  And, to revamp this here little blog.  I finally sat down and created a posting schedule, I started planning posts in advance, and I have all my features figured out.  I'm getting organized ya'll, and I've never been so excited about that in my life.  I actually can't wait to wake up early and just start DOING.

I've been spending the past few weeks with my family and friends, and just enjoying my time.  My dad is home from working overseas, and our family will be going on vacation soon.  We'll be visiting Busch Gardens and Sea World!  Yeah I know, I'm a little kid at heart.  I love going to theme parks, they're just so fun!

I'm so excited for everything that's coming for this blog, and I can't wait to start sharing everything with you!  I hope you all are having a wonderful week, and I'll see you soon!
