Mini Pie Monday

So guess what I bought about a week ago?  A Breville Mini- Pie Maker!  It makes the cutest little pies I ever did see!  For Superbowl Sunday I made mini pizza pies (which were a huge hit), and today I made mini cherry pies.  I love mini pies because they are the perfect portion size, and I can make super healthy and quick meals (as well as snacks) if I so please.

So I figured I would share my mini pie-baking adventures with you all!

Here's todays mini pie: Quick and Easy Cherry Pie

*will make 4 mini pies*

Ingredients:
Store-bought or homemade pie crust (enough to make a covered 9 inch pie)
One can of cherry pie filling (store-bought or homemade)
Vanilla ice cream

It's pretty simple; just cut out the crust to fit in the pie maker, spoon some cherry filling into the pie crust, then close it and wait about 12 to 15 minutes.  After you take it out and let it cool for a while, place it on a cute mini plate with a scoop of ice cream and enjoy!

Now honestly, I did not care for the pie crust I used, I think I'm going to make it myself next time.  I also tried to make some chocolate pie, but I left it in a bit too long and it exploded it in a boiling mess of pudding goo.

So what mini pie recipe should I try next?

Friday Faves

These fabric bow necklaces are adorable!  I'm working on making some crochet versions of my own.

This dress by Modcloth is super sweet, the collar and color are perfect!

Scalloped bunting definitely has a cute factor, but this mirror version has an edgy feel as well.

Aww! This little hipster Bichon just melts my heart! via livingonthechic

Here's perfection in a backpack. pinned here.

Hopefully I'll be able to find the charger for my camera battery this weekend, and I'll be back to posting regularly.  Other than that I will be spending my weekend crocheting and doing homework.  What are your plans for the weekend?

Friday Favorites

I love any holiday that lets me make crafty little projects and give them as gifts, and Valentine's Day is no exception.  I've got a few DIY's planned out for the next two weeks or so, and I can't wait to share them with you guys!  But until then, here's some DIY Valentine goodness from across the vast inter-webs to inspire you.

These sweet stitched heart bookmarks are cute and so simple to make!  Alison from little lovelies has tons of other adorable DIY's, so go check them out!

These vintage inspired Valentine arrows from Design Sponge would make for some sweet decorations, don'tcha think?

This sparkly garland by lovely indeed is so glittery and perfect, even though my boyfriend views glitter as the cancer of all crafts.  He's just gonna have to deal with it.

What are some of your favorite Valentine's Day crafts this season?

Bows upon Bows

shirt: Charlotte Russe
Skirt, belt, necklace: Forever21
Ring, tights: gifts
Earwarmers: handmade

What I wore to school today.  It's not super cold thankfully, just cold enough to wear tights and a light sweater and still be comfortable.  Like my headband/earwarmers?  I'm making a purple one for a friend, as well as one in a different style.  Hopefully I'll be able to get some better photos of those.

And yep, I matched my bow headband with my bow belt.  But my necklace is a moose and my ring is a zebra, so it's not too much! haha

Aren't these the cutest little origami cats? Find the tutorial here!

Love this calico cat print by Gingiber!

Loving this bright and eclectic cat tee!

I love animals.  Always have, always will.  Heck, I'm studying to become a veterinarian for crying out loud.  But cats are my secret favorite.
