What I Wore: Flower Power

Dress :: Walmart
Sandals :: Modcloth
Clutch :: Vintage
Necklace :: Forever21

I am FINALLY getting back into the habit of taking outfit photos!  While have a completely unstructured summer was relaxing, it also meant I didn't get dressed up very much.  But school has started, so now I'm back to using more of my closet again!

Am I the only one excited about school?  Well, within my family I am.  I just love learning, and taking classes, and meeting like-minded people!  I'm taking Intro to Drawing I, Conservation Biology, Statistics, and American Literature.  I'm enjoying all of my classes so far, but American Lit is my favorite.  Yeah, I'm that kind of nerd.

So about this dress: it's from Walmart!  Can you believe it?  I love the bold floral print, the little ruffle across the bust, and the pretty back (which I forgot to photograph).  I'm sure it will only survive a few washings, but hey, I'll rock it while I can!

Are you going to school this semester?  If so, are you excited about it?

What I Wore: Waves Around My Waist

Shirt: Charlotte Russe
Skirt: American Apparel
Belt, Necklace: Sister's
Scarf: Vintage
Shoes: Payless

I wore this last week on a trip to Panama City with my best friend.  We ran around historic downtown and took lots of photos, some of which you'll be seeing shortly.

Because it's summer here, I had to wear something light enough to save me from a heat stroke.  Luckily, this skirt did the trick.  It was heavy enough to not fly up from the ocean breeze (but I wore shorts cause you never know, right?), yet light enough to keep me cool.

And yes, I really am that pale.

What I Wore: Sipping on Sunshine

Dress: Modcloth
Socks: Forever21
Boots: My sister's
Flower: Claire's

I LOVE this dress.  It is super light and airy, and who can't resist a little polka dot dress?  It's really more of an olive green in person, but it is still just as pretty as the photos.  I am going to wear the heck out of this dress all summer, it is perfection in a frock!

We were in Panama City last Wednesday when I wore this, so I made sure to have on comfortable walking shoes.  These boots just fit so well, I feel like I could walk for miles in them.  But not really, cause I'm pretty sure I would die.

p.s. Sorry for the weird lighting, the sun was almost gone and we had to take photos quickly!

What I Wore: Stripes and Turquoise

Top: Dillard's
Jeans: Ross
Shoes: Modcloth
Necklace: Gifted

Wow, it's been a while!  Between graduation, work, and all the family stuff going on, I haven't had much blogging time. But c'est la vie, and I'm back and at it now!

This tank top has a super cute back, but I was unable to get a good photo of it this time.  This shirt is so comfortable that I'm sure it will become a summer staple, so expect to see it a lot more!  The same goes for these shoes, I can't get enough of them!  They are incredibly comfortable, but still give a little extra height.  Plus the color is just to die for, who wouldn't want some bright turquoise shoes?

What are some of your summer staples this season?

What I Wore: My Favorite Tights

mustard tights two mustard tights three mustard tights one mustard tights four mustard tights five

Dress, Cardigan, Tights :: Forever21
Belt :: Charlotte Russe
Shoes :: Payless

I know, I know.  It's 90 degrees outside, and I'm wearing tights.  They're just so hard to part with!  Especially this mustard pair, it adds such a great dose of color to all my outfits.  And can you believe it? I actually had a good hair day today!

So in other news, I finally got my iPhone today!  So you can expect a TON more photos now, because that baby will be going EVERYWHERE with me.  I haven't named it yet, it has to be something special. Yeah, I name inanimate objects.  And stray animals.  And random people.  I have a problem...oh well.

What's your favorite wardrobe staple?

What I Wore: For My Birthday!

dress:  Deja Vu
belt:  Charlotte Russe
socks: Forever21
boots:  Kohls

Monday was my birthday!  With all my birthday happenings (and stressful school work) I got a bit behind on blogging.  But I have a ton of posts ready to share with you!

My birthday dress was love at first sight.  The seventies shape, the bright Indian elephants, and not to mention the killer price tag (25 bucks!); this dress is just too perfect.  It really reminded me of my trip this past summer to Nepal and India.  I could definitely see a tunic similar to this for sale in the Kathmandu markets, or an Indian tourist shop.

I wore this to school, thrifting, and to the new frozen yogurt place that opened on my birthday.  I have a serious weakness for frozen yogurt, and Milk and Honey Frozen Yogurt is definitely feeding that craving.  I have a feeling it will become a regular hang-out spot for me!

What I Wore: A Silver Spoon

skirt, shoes :: Modcloth
dress (as shirt) :: Bloom
vest :: Kohls
cardigan :: Forever21
socks :: shopRuche
necklace :: vintage

Today was crazy stormy.  Of course, the weather decided to wait until I had to drive 40 miles home to turn bad.  But no worries!  I am obviously okay (or my ghost is typing this, who knows?).

Anyways, onto my outfit.  This is one of my favorite skirts.  It's bright, it has pockets, and it is long enough to be worn without tights.  Yeah, it's also extremely wrinkly.  That's because I'm lazy.  Lately I've been really attracted to anything yellow; it's just so happy and bright, it's so much fun to wear.

This brooch, worn as a necklace, was a find in a grab bag from my local favorite vintage store.  It's so precious, I love it.  You'll be seeing lots more of necklaces like this, those grab bags were full of awesome vintage brooches!

And yes, I'm pretty sure my left sock was on inside out.

What's your favorite color to wear right now?  Explain why!:)

What I Wore: Teal and Floral

dress, shoes :: Modcloth
tights :: gifted

Today was my first day back at school after spring break, and I just wanted to wear something comfortable.  My newest dress from Modcloth fit the bill!  I absolutely love this dress; the color is bright and fun, the buttons and peter pan collar are adorable, and it is so easy to wear.

I bought these flats to be my pair of "go to" spring shoes, and they are quickly becoming just that!  The navy floral fabric makes the cute, but neutral enough to wear with practically everything; plus the bow and strap detail are just adorable!  I've worn them almost everyday lately.

What are your "go to" pair of shoes this season?

What I Wore: to the Zoo

skirt :: Modcloth
shirt :: concert
cardigan, tights :: Forever21
boots :: Kohls
scarf :: Super old, I can't remember

Today my mother, my two younger sisters, my boyfriend, and I took a trip to the zoo in Panama City.  It's not that big, but I always have fun.  Since the big cats are my favorite animals to see, I thought my new novelty cat print skirt was quite fitting.  Oh, and if it isn't obvious yet, I'm a cat lady.  And a lover of yellow tights.

In that fourth photo I'm pretending to be an airplane.  Because airplanes are cool.

What are your favorite animals at the zoo?

xo, Megan

thanks nick for the photos!

What I Wore: Hipster Cat

shirt :: Modcloth
jeans :: Kohls
boots :: thrifted

Today was my day to just relax, since it is my only day off work this week.  I spent my morning being a lazy bum, and during the afternoon my boyfriend and I chilled with some friends at a Magic the Gathering tournament.  Yeah, I know.  We're dorks.

Seeing how I'm a teenage cat lady, I had to buy this shirt when I saw it on Modcloth.  I mean, c'mon.  A burnt out tee with a fuzzy wuzzy cat wearing bright red hipster glasses?  How could I resist?  Bonus: it's super soft, and works well worn many ways (try saying that five times fast).

I haven't yet DIYed these boots.  Why?  'Cause I procrastinate, that's why.  And I'm darn good at it.  But now I finally have a vision for them, so hopefully that means they will get all dolled up soon.

How has everyone's spring breaks been?  Does anyone else have to work their whole spring break, too?

What I Wore: Polka Dots

dress :: THML via Stitchfix
belt :: Forever21
shoes :: Payless
socks :: Ruche
necklace :: vintage
bow :: my sister's

Saturday Nick and I spent our afternoon in Apalachicola at an ArtWalk.  There were tons of local artists, it was really a cool experience.  We stopped at a chocolatier's and got some gelato, and the local bookstore and yarn store, as well as all the antique stores that fill the port town.

I got this dress from this new company called Stitchfix.  The idea behind the company is really cool, and I was very pleased with my first shipment.  This dress was what I decided to keep from it, and it is so comfortable and perfect for spring.  If you want to find out more about Stitchfix, you can check out their website here, and if you like it go ahead and fill out your profile and make an order!

P.S. isn't Nick the cutest?
